Minced onion undergoes a similar process to onion powder, except the onion is chopped into a coarser and larger flaked option. Minced onions are good in dishes where you may want onion flavouring but not necessarily large onion chunks, such as meatloaf, mashed potatoes, or in various dry rubs.
